I have truly been blessed with a wonderful family, career and life. Every day is a good day!!! I have paid my filing fee and am officially running for Mayor of Union. At the end of the street across from City Hall's parking lot, Union proudly
displayed one of the only 9 murals in SC designed & painted by world famous
Blue Sky in 2007. In 2016, I contacted the artist best known for Columbia's
"Tunnel Vision", sent him my captured image from that morning and discussed
meeting him when he was scheduled by the original 10 year old contract to
come, freshen & reseal the surface so I could document the process with my
camera as he worked. Not only did the city remove the railroad ties and granite
rocks that were part of the 3-D project, they also did not honor the agreement
for the maintanance.
I took this photo in July 2020, using the same camera, lens and processing. Only
the sky is lighter because it was midday instead of morning Now the RR crossing
bars are also gone, the unsealed surface has faded and the concrete/plaster
surface is coming off of the wall and the once popular tourist attraction, less
than 150' from a multi-million dollar city project, Main Street Junction has
become an eyesore.
